Fees are $5 for trailers, $10 for a short (up to 35 min.); $15 for a feature (35-99 min.); and $20 for 100+ minutes. Please choose a payment option (see INSTRUCTIONS section below for more info.)

SUBMISSION FEES
The EARLY BIRD* submission fee is $10 for short films 35 minutes or less, $15 for films up to 99 minutes, and $20 for films 100+ minutes. The EARLY BIRD submission period ends on May 30 at midnight.

After May 30, 2009 fees are $15 for shorts up to 35 minutes, $20 for features up to 99 minutes, and $25 for films 100 minutes or more. The FINAL DEADLINE is July 25, 2009

The submission fee for Trailers is $5, and trailers are accepted all year long.
Submission fees are non-refundable.

The preferred method of payment is via PayPal, which lets us process your form immediately and takes care of any foreign currency exchange issues.

1. Find the SUBMISSION FEES section in the above form, and choose Credit Card as your payment option.

2. Click the Credit Card button.

3. When the PayPal window pops up, be sure to include your film title in the "Item" field.

4. Once you've completed your transaction, please put your PayPal Transaction ID number in the appropriate box above. If you choose PayPal as your payment option and submit without the Transaction ID, your application may be delayed.

MAILING SUBMISSION FEES
If you don't wish to pay your submission fees by PayPal or credit card, you can send check or money order made out to Cinephile Film Arts with the film's title clearly printed on the check. Fees must be paid in U.S. dollars and are non-refundable. International Submissions: If you are outside of the United States, submit payment via money order made out in U.S. dollars. Please do not enclose international checks.

SUBMISSION MATERIALS
Once you complete the online application above, you will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours. In addition to completing the Online Entry Form, you will need to submit by regular mail the following items by the submission deadline.

A DVD or DVD-R (Region 1 or Region 0), or a VHS videotape (NTSC only), or 35mm film clearly labeled with:

  • Film Title
  • Contact Name
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address
  • Running Time

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Final selection announcements will be made after August 22nd, 2009 and you'll receive an email regarding the selection of your film. We'll also keep a running a list of all the scheduled films on DarkCarnivalFilmFest.com. If you need your DVD or tape back, you'll need to be sure to include a stamped, self-addrressed envelope with your submission materials.

Terms of Submission Agreement
I, the contact person for the film submitted with this application, agree to the following:
I have read, understood and complied with all eligibility requirements of the categories for which I would like this film to be considered. To the best of my knowledge, all statements on this document are true. My film is not subject to litigation nor is threatened by any litigation. I am duly authorized to submit this film to Dark Carnival and I hold the Festival harmless from damage to or loss of the materials en route or otherwise during the course of the Festival's possession of the film. Should this film win any awards at the Festival, I am authorized and/or empowered by all parties legally representing this film to receive all cash prizes and awards.
